Integrated primary and secondary packaging for fragrance brands — glass bottles, premium closures, and the rigid boxes that turn a bottle into a gift.

In fragrance, the packaging is nearly the whole product.
No other beauty category leans on packaging as heavily as fragrance does. The juice inside matters — but the consumer meets the bottle, the cap, the weight, the rigid box, the ribbon, the closure pull, and the cellophane long before the first spray. Fragrance packaging isn't supporting the product. It is the product, for the first 30 seconds of the purchase experience. And those 30 seconds decide whether it's a gift or a self-indulgence.
That raises the bar on both sides of the system. The glass has to feel right in the hand. The closure has to click, not clatter. The rigid box has to open with the weight of a jewelry box. And everything has to arrive together, on time, to a retailer whose gifting season runs on a calendar that doesn't slip. We build fragrance packaging as one coordinated performance — primary, secondary, and the ritual in between.
Primary and secondary, engineered as ceremony.
Fragrance has the highest secondary-packaging-to-primary ratio of any beauty category — the outer box is often more visible and more memorable than the bottle inside. We build both sides of that relationship.

"A fragrance launch with a great bottle and a mediocre box is a fragrance launch with a mediocre reception. Primary and secondary carry equal weight here."
Who we build fragrance packaging for.
Our fragrance clients sit across the spectrum — from indie perfumery launches of 500 bottles to prestige gifting programs of 50,000. What they share: the understanding that fragrance packaging is a ceremony, and every component in the system is part of the performance.
The fragrance packaging problems most suppliers under-engineer.
The Packaging Playbook, mapped to a fragrance launch.
Every project moves through six stages. For fragrance, the watchpoints are primary-secondary hand-feel coordination, rigid box construction quality, gift-season calendar discipline, and glass transit protection.

Delivery Filler, assembly, 3PL, or retailer DC Why fragrance is the clearest case for one accountable partner.
Of every beauty category, fragrance has the highest number of coordinated components per unit — bottle, pump, collar, cap, dip tube, neck tag, cellophane, printed label, folding carton or rigid box, insert, shipper. Eleven components is typical. Twenty is not unusual for gift sets. In a traditional packaging model, that means five to seven separate suppliers coordinating to hit one launch date.
Knockout consolidates that coordination. We source the glass, specify the closure, engineer the rigid box, design the insert, produce the label and carton, and run the shipper qualification. Every component lands at your filler or assembler on the same timeline, against the same QC standard. The difference shows up at peak season — when the brands with one accountable partner hit gifting windows, and the brands with seven suppliers don't.
Fragrance packaging questions we get asked
Do you source fragrance bottles and rigid boxes together?
Yes. That integration is the core of our fragrance capability. We source glass bottles, specify closures and pumps, engineer the rigid outer box, design the insert, and produce the labels and shippers — as one coordinated system through one accountable partner.
Can you do custom-tooled fragrance bottles?
Yes, with the right lead time and MOQ. Custom-tooled glass typically starts at 25,000 to 50,000 units depending on complexity, with tooling lead times of 16–24 weeks. Stock premium glass with custom decoration gives brands most of the visual distinctiveness at a fraction of the cost and lead time.
What's the minimum order quantity for fragrance packaging?
Depends on the component. Stock glass with custom decoration, custom cartons, and custom labels can start around 5,000 to 10,000 units. Custom rigid boxes start at 2,500 to 5,000 units. Custom-tooled primary components start much higher. We build realistic MOQs into Discovery.
Can you build fragrance gift sets with multiple SKUs and custom inserts?
Yes. Gift sets are among our most frequent fragrance projects. We engineer the rigid outer box, design the cradle or insert that holds multiple SKUs, coordinate component sourcing across the set, and manage assembly either at your filler or through an assembly partner we coordinate with.
Do you handle ISTA drop-test validation for fragrance DTC shipping?
Yes. Fragrance in e-commerce is ISTA-3A territory and we coordinate that validation with your 3PL and the shipper supplier. Custom protective shippers with molded pulp or foam inserts, plus rigid-box-on-shipper compatibility engineering, is standard for our prestige fragrance work.
Can you support refillable fragrance programs?
Yes. Refillable fragrance architecture — fixed display bottles with refill pouches, decanter systems, or atomizer refills — is a growing share of our fragrance work. We engineer the primary refill system and the secondary packaging that communicates the refill program at retail.
How far in advance should I start a fragrance packaging project?
For a standard launch using stock primary and custom secondary, 14–18 weeks is realistic. Custom-tooled glass bottles push to 24–30 weeks. Gift-season launches need to commit packaging lockdown 6–9 months before retail ship date. Discovery establishes the real calendar against your launch target.
Launching a fragrance, building a gift set program, or refreshing a prestige line?
Tell us what you're building. We'll tell you what's realistic — on timeline, on MOQ, on components, on rigid box construction. Discovery is free and it's where the real scope gets set.
