A vendor quotes a part
Prices a component, ships it when it is paid for, and the relationship ends at the loading dock. Whatever happens next is yours to sort out.
Knockout Packaging Solutions is a North American packaging partner for beauty, wellness and lifestyle brands. We source and manage primary packaging, secondary packaging, and the project management between them, under one purchase order with one named person accountable for the outcome. Brands come to us when packaging has outgrown what their team can absorb, and staying on top of it has started costing them launch dates.
The packaging market uses three words interchangeably and they do not mean the same thing. The difference decides who is responsible when a component arrives wrong, three weeks before your fill date.
Prices a component, ships it when it is paid for, and the relationship ends at the loading dock. Whatever happens next is yours to sort out.
Passes your order to someone else's factory and takes a margin for the introduction. No technical input, no oversight of the run, no accountability for what turns up.
Sources the components, engineers what needs engineering, runs the QC process, coordinates the timeline, absorbs the freight and tariff exposure, and names a person you can call. One number, all in.
A single launch now touches a bottle supplier, a closure supplier, a decorator, a carton printer, a corrugate supplier and a freight forwarder. Six relationships, six lead times, six quality standards, six people who each believe someone else is holding the schedule. Nobody is wrong. Nobody is accountable either.
The brand ends up doing the integration work by default. A founder chasing carton proofs at 11pm. An ops lead rebuilding a timeline because one supplier moved by nine days and nobody told the other five. That work is real, it is expensive, and it does not appear on a single quote.
Knockout was built by people who spent decades on the manufacturing side of that problem and got tired of watching good brands absorb it. We put the whole package under one team so the integration work stops being the brand's problem.
Going factory-direct is not cheaper. It is a fixed cost dressed up as a variable one.
No account rep you have never met, no tier-two hand-off after the sale. The people below are the people on your project.
James built Knockout out of a career spent on the manufacturing side of packaging, which is why he tends to catch the problem in a dieline before it becomes a problem on a production line. He started the company to give brands the one thing he kept watching them go without: a single team that owns the whole package rather than six suppliers each owning a piece of it. He stays personally involved in the accounts he takes on, so the person on your discovery call is the person accountable for the result.
Christina runs everything between the approved quote and the delivered pallet. Supplier management, production scheduling, and the QC process at pre-production, in-production and pre-ship, so a defect gets found while it is still fixable. Clients tend to describe her the same way: the person who tells you what is happening before you have to ask.
Components, sourcing, project management, the QC process, freight, duties and tariffs, quoted as a single figure. It does not move unless the scope moves. We make our money by running the process well, not by adding line items later.
Checks are set at pre-production, in-production and pre-ship. Finding a defect on the receiving dock is not quality control. It is an expensive way to discover you did not have any.
If a mould is running late or a print run is off standard, you hear it the day we hear it, with options attached. Nobody manages a launch well on information that arrives a week late.
If the volume, the format or the timeline does not work with us, we will say so on the first call and point you somewhere better where we can. Three emails later is not a favour to anyone.
When a consultant, agency or contract manufacturer brings us in, we never go around them to their client. Some stay embedded through the project, some step out after the introduction. Both work.
Recyclable, compostable and recycled-content claims get written into the component spec and checked at production, because a claim you cannot defend on a retailer submission is worse than no claim at all.
The same sequence runs whether you are launching one SKU or rebuilding a full range. It exists so that you always know which stage you are at, what is being decided, and what is needed from you next.
Every brand we work with has a sustainability position to defend, usually to a retailer, sometimes to a regulator, always to a customer who reads the pack. Vague language is a liability. So we work in specifications you can put in front of a buyer.
Where a lower-impact material genuinely performs, we will specify it. Where it will fail a drop test, scuff on the shelf or compromise the product, we will tell you that instead of selling it to you.
We work with brands directly and alongside the contract manufacturers, consultants and agencies who build for them. Categories where we have the deepest component and decoration experience are below.
Beauty, wellness and lifestyle brands across North America, from first launch to steady replenishment.

Founders and operators consistently point to the same three things: responsiveness, technical know-how, and keeping a project moving.
We chose Knockout because the team truly understood the vision for BiotechBeauty and helped us translate it into sustainable packaging that feels distinctive, elevated, and true to our brand. From thoughtful guidance on structure, materials, and finishes to seamless, detail-oriented execution, the Knockout team exceeded our expectations at every stage.

Knockout Packaging Solutions is a North American packaging partner that sources and manages primary packaging, secondary packaging and the project management between them for beauty, wellness and lifestyle brands. Clients place one purchase order and have one named person accountable for the whole package, rather than coordinating five or six separate suppliers themselves.
None of the three. A broker resells components from another factory and adds a margin for the introduction. A distributor holds stock and assigns you an account rep. Knockout manages the process end to end: sourcing, engineering, the QC process, production oversight and delivery, with the manufacturing done by vetted partner facilities that we select and manage for each component.
Knockout is a Canadian company serving brands across Canada and the United States. Production runs on a North American footprint wherever the component allows, which typically means three to four weeks in production rather than the 60 to 120 days common with overseas direct sourcing. Where a component genuinely requires an overseas tool or process, we use vetted facilities and manage the timeline and the QC process the same way.
Primary packaging including bottles, jars, tubes, pumps, droppers, closures and custom-moulded components. Secondary packaging including unit cartons, rigid and gift packaging, e-commerce shippers, mailers and labels. Plus the work between them: component engineering, mould development, sampling, decoration, the QC process, cost control, freight, duties and delivery to your filler or your contract manufacturer.
One all-in number. It covers components, sourcing, project management, the QC process, coordination, shipping, duties and tariffs, and it does not change unless the scope changes. Most packaging suppliers quote line by line, which leaves room for surcharges, fuel adjustments and duty to appear later. We would rather you knew the real number at the start.
The line item usually looks higher. The total cost is usually lower. Direct sourcing moves the coordination, the QC process, the freight exposure and the tooling risk onto your team, and those costs land as headcount, missed launch windows and stranded inventory rather than as a number on the quote. We will walk through the full comparison against your own packaging on a call.
Regularly. We ship direct to the filling line, and we work either as the CM's own packaging team behind the scenes or directly with the brand alongside them. Terms are set out on the contract manufacturers page. If a consultant or agency introduces us, the client relationship stays theirs.
Specifically: FSC-certified paperboard from sustainably managed forests, stocks carrying 10 to 30 percent post-consumer waste, options made from 100 percent recycled pulp, vegetable oil-based inks, and water-based coatings and adhesives that keep a carton in the recycling stream. We avoid laminated and heavy foil finishes where they would compromise recyclability. Every claim is written into the component spec so it can be defended on a retailer submission.
It depends on the component and the decoration. Stock components start low, custom tooling starts considerably higher. MOQs can often be combined across SKUs and split into staged shipments to protect your cash position. The detail, including how the combining works, is on the FAQ page.
Book a 30-minute discovery call. Bring a dieline, a spec sheet, a competitor pack you like, or nothing at all. You will leave with a cost range, a realistic timeline and the risks named out loud. If we are not the right fit, we will say so on that call.
